Pepsico is hiring for Distribution Center Loader In the role of a Distribution Center Loader, the main duty is to build pallets of products for shipping on bulk and route trucks. Adhering to precise guidelines during the loading and unloading process is essential, operating machinery such as forklifts and electronic pallet jacks. Employing electronic order systems or order sheets facilitates efficient task completion and order accuracy. The primary tasks include ensuring the accuracy of loading procedures and adhering to shipping and receiving documentation. It is also important to maintain a neat and safe work environment, be able to work in various weather conditions, and be flexible with shift durations according to workload needs. Primary Responsibilities: • Truck Loading: Loading trucks involves the transportation of full pallets of items onto trailers, the removal of any returned pallets, and the placement of bulk packages onto trucks. • Raw Material Handling: Raw material handling involves unloading and placing raw materials in designated storage locations. • Pallet Building: Choose specific packages from the warehouse, stack and wrap pallets, and then transport them onto trailers for distribution. • Customer-Specific Loading: Customizing the loading of products according to the orders specified by salespersons for route truck distribution. • Unloading: Receive and remove products and pallets/plastic flats from incoming delivery trucks. • Physical Requirements: Repeatedly lift cases of products weighing between 20 and 45 lbs. over the duration of a work shift. Continuous standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and gripping are essential. Primary Job Accountabilities: • Maneuver power pallet jacks or forklifts to select and load items as specified on load sheets or through voice-pick technology. • Designate tickets as sold-out for items that are not in supply. • Finish off by wrapping the pallets once the load is finalized. • It is essential to submit paperwork along with orders for verification prior to loading activities. • Stage the pallets and initiate the loading process into the trucks when they are prepared for transport. • Assemble fragmented pallets and categorize mixed pallets for storage purposes. • Maintain cleanliness standards in the work area as required. • Sustain a pattern of attendance that is reliable, consistent, and anticipated. Basic Qualifications: • Participation is reserved for adults 18 years and older. Preferred Experience: • Past engagement in warehouse operations, including tasks such as order selection, product organization, staging for delivery, and the operation of powered pallet jacks or forklifts. • Capable of performing crucial forklift maneuvers, including forward and reverse driving, controlling the boom's elevation, and successfully navigating through narrow or congested spaces. • Practical experience with racking systems and dealing with pallets while loading and unloading (putting and taking pallets from racking systems and trucks). • The practice of working together harmoniously, finding solutions collectively, and cooperating effectively exemplifies teamwork experience.
