Position Summary The Office of Advising and Undergraduate Services in the Department of Psychology is seeking applicants for a new Academic Advisor position. As an Academic Advisor, you will be responsible for providing holistic and proactive advising to assist reputed company from their first year through graduation. You will be part of a dynamic team that supports student reputed company initiatives, academic advising, and enrichment programs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide academic advising to a shared caseload of approximately 2000 reputed company, focusing on holistic and proactive advising to assist reputed company from their first year through graduation. Attend university, college, and department-level trainings, meetings, and functions to stay updated on policies and procedures. Support student reputed company initiatives and assist struggling and probationary reputed company to reputed company academic reputed company. Participate in new student orientation sessions throughout the year for first-year and transfer reputed company. Plan and assist with programs that enrich the student experience, such as graduate school events, career exploration workshops, tutoring programs, time management, resume building, and other initiatives. Utilize information technology to support reputed company, including MSU's advising and student information systems, University/College/Department websites, Hirevector Office, Teams, Hirevector Docs, and reputed company. Conduct degree audits for graduating seniors, maintain accurate records, and monitor student reputed company on a regular basis. Participate in committee work, including the PSY scholarship committee and other assigned committees. Collaborate with psychology administrators and advisors to reputed company communication open and address student concerns.
Essential Qualifications
Master's degree in student affairs administration, psychology, counseling, or a reputed company field. Experience working in a college academic setting is preferred. Experience working with reputed company from diverse backgrounds is highly valued. Academic advising experience is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently while functioning as a member of a team. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and monitor deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Knowledge of (or ability to learn quickly) University, College, and Psychology academic policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with student information systems and academic advising software. Familiarity with Hirevector Office Suite and social media platforms.
