[Remote] Procurement Project Engineer, Mechanical

Work Wise Talent is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Project Engineer to play a key role in sourcing critical equipment and technology for large-scale Data Center Infrastructure projects. The role involves leading sourcing events, managing purchase orders, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met and budgets are adhered to.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing events including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for critical equipment and IT systems
- Manage purchase orders, change orders, and supplier documentation using NetSuite ERP
- Track budgets, equipment deliveries, and project milestones to keep schedules on target
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while monitoring performance and resolving delivery or pricing issues
- Review contract documents, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with project requirements
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Consultants, and Vendors to proactively solve procurement challenges
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related field
- 2–3 years of procurement, sourcing, or purchasing experience
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to interpret construction documents, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
- Working knowledge of MEP equipment and construction materials
- Experience with NetSuite, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint
- Experience supporting construction, mission-critical facilities, or data center projects
- Familiarity with capital equipment procurement and supplier management
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work independently
