Our Trust & Safety (T&S) organization is at the heart of this mission, driving innovative policies, cutting‑edge technology, and collaborative partnerships to keep the digital ecosystem secure and vibrant.

Why This Role Matters

The Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics is a cornerstone position within arenaflex’s T&S division. You will lead a high‑impact team that detects, mitigates, and prevents malicious activities such as account takeovers, spam, harassment, and coordinated inauthentic behavior. By combining deep analytical insight with strategic product collaboration, you will shape the future of safety on a platform that reaches billions of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a global strategy for adversarial abuse detection and response, aligning with arenaflex’s broader safety and business objectives.
  • Team Management: Build, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data scientists, engineers, and policy experts across multiple time zones.
  • Risk Identification: Anticipate emerging threats—especially those driven by generative AI—and develop proactive mitigation frameworks.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, Global Operations, and Policy teams to embed safety signals into product roadmaps and feature releases.
  • Data‑Driven Insights: Oversee the design and delivery of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that surface abuse trends to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Incident Response: Lead rapid‑response initiatives for high‑severity abuse incidents, coordinating with legal, communications, and external law‑enforcement as needed.
  • Process Optimization: Streamline workflows to reduce turnaround time for abuse detection, ensuring scalability as user volume grows.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Produce clear, actionable transparency reports for regulators and the public, reinforcing arenaflex’s commitment to openness.
  • Innovation & Research: Champion research into novel detection algorithms, leveraging machine learning, graph analysis, and behavioral modeling.
  • On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule, including occasional weekends, to maintain 24/7 coverage for critical safety operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience leading risk‑mitigation initiatives at scale, preferably within a large‑tech or media environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and deploying data pipelines and machine‑learning models that detect abusive behavior.
  • Proven ability to manage teams that operate on non‑standard schedules and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of turning complex data sets into strategic business decisions.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Information Science.
  • Experience analyzing massive data sets (billions of records) to uncover patterns of abuse and fraud.
  • Passion for combating malicious activity—experience with anti‑abuse, security, or policy enforcement is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, and/or MATLAB for data extraction, analysis, and modeling.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills; ability to build strong relationships with cross‑functional partners.
  • Business acumen to translate technical findings into actionable product and policy recommendations.
  • Comfort working in a fast‑changing environment, managing ambiguity while maintaining rigorous quantitative standards.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Excellence: Deep statistical knowledge and the ability to craft robust, reproducible analyses.
  • Leadership Presence: Inspire confidence, drive consensus, and cultivate a high‑performance culture.
  • Technical Fluency: Strong grasp of data engineering, machine‑learning pipelines, and modern analytics tooling.
  • Strategic Vision: Anticipate future abuse vectors and shape long‑term safety roadmaps.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with product, engineering, legal, and policy teams across global offices.
  • Ethical Judgment: Balance user privacy with safety imperatives, adhering to global regulatory standards.
