Role Overview

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Operations Coordinator to join CAA Colorado’s team and focus on data analytics, tracking, and managing paperwork related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) plan implementation. As a key member of our operations team, you will assist in gathering, processing, and analyzing data to ensure the smooth execution of programs aimed at reducing waste and increasing recycling. You will also help maintain records, assist with reports, and support the team in various tasks that drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Collect, organize, and analyze data from various sources related to EPR implementation and recycling services, waste reduction, and composting efforts.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for internal and external interest holders, highlighting performance metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to waste diversion and recycling programs.
  • Conduct targeted research projects to expand team knowledge on recycling systems, EPR best practices, market trends, and operational improvements.

Tracking & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of all compliance documents, tracking forms, and other paperwork related to EPR regulations.
  • Ensure that all data and paperwork are up-to-date and compliant with applicable laws and internal standards.
  • Assist in creating and updating spreadsheets, databases, and tracking systems to ensure efficient workflows.

Program Support

  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of various programs and projects aimed at supporting compliance with Colorado’s EPR law.
  • Help prepare and distribute informational materials and documents to service providers, governments, and interest holders.
  • Provide on-going support to the CAA Colorado operations team to ensure CAA Colorado can deliver on the aim of providing recycling access to all Colorado residents by 2030.
  • Support the team in maintaining communication with service providers to ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.

Collaboration & Interested Party Engagement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between data analytics, tracking systems, and EPR compliance efforts.
  • Prepare materials for meetings with government agencies, businesses, and community organizations involved in recycling and waste reduction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.  

Other Duties

  • Operations Coordinator may be required to perform other related duties assigned to support the effective operation and mission of CAA Colorado.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Reliably ensures tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with using artificial intelligence tools to achieve operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or institution preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in operations or administrative role.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Driver's License with clean driving history.

Compensation & Other Information

  • Location: Initially fully remote within Colorado, with the ability to travel to the Denver/Boulder area several times per month.
  • Pay Rate: Based on a variety of factors in accordance with applicable law including the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Reports To: CAA Colorado Director of Operations
