About the Role

As a Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative, you will act as the initial point of contact for inquiries from potential and existing Iowa Medicaid Program recipients and affiliates. You will provide one-to-one telephone contact with applicants, beneficiaries, and enrollees in customer service roles, accurately documenting enrollment requests and status changes. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clear, complete, accurate, and objective information based on a full understanding of program requirements
  • Entering application and enrollment information into a web-based computer system for customers wishing to apply for the program over the telephone
  • Maintaining technical and program policy proficiency in the Iowa Medicaid rules/guidelines and other related program policies
  • Working with people of diverse backgrounds and providing excellent customer service skills
  • Adhering to a break and lunch schedule and navigating a computer with excellent typing and grammar skills

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to customer inquiries via phone, email, or other communication channels
  • Resolving customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Providing information and support to customers regarding the Iowa Medicaid Program
  • Documenting customer interactions and maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborating with other team members to achieve customer satisfaction and resolution goals

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A basic understanding of a call center environment in a customer service role and quality monitoring processes
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, beneficiaries, and co-workers
  • Ability to problem-solve through analysis and ongoing feedback
  • Achieve results through knowledge, empathy, and commitment
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Background check required
  • Must reside within 1 hour driving distance from Des Moines, IA

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call center environment
  • Knowledge of the Iowa Medicaid Program and its policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

As a Remote Call Center Customer Service Representative, you will be eligible for:

  • $18.00 per hour pay rate, with bi-weekly pay
  • Paid training and equipment provided
