Job title: MAV/EVO (Sign on Bonus) Company: GEM Mobile Health Job description: $750 Sign On Bonus to Full-time Newly Hired Drivers Only! Overview: GEM Mobile Health is currently hiring Wheelchair and Emergency Vehicle Drivers. We offer full-time, part-time and per diem shift schedules for days, nights and weekends. We are a 24/7, 365 day ambulatory transportation company. We are looking for friendly, caring, skilled professionals who can make sound clinical judgments and will pay attention to the special needs of our patients and satisfaction of our clients. Responsibilities: Drivers are responsible for transporting wheelchair-bound as well as non-critical, critical and emergent patients between our facilities. This position will also be responsible for transporting patients on recreational bus trips. Description of Duties:
- Drive ambulances, transporting patients to and from various medical facilities and/or home in non-emergency and emergency situations.
- Provide assistance to emergency medical technicians during transport.
- Assist EMT with providing oxygen therapy to patient(s).
- Assist EMT with lifting the stretcher and securing patient(s) for transport.
- Communicate with patient(s), staff and family members in a compassionate manner.
- Communicate with medical facility staff regarding patient(s).
- Regularly communicates with dispatcher(s) regarding transportation status and to provide critical information.
- Document transportation activities, ensuring accurate information regarding the transportation is documented.
- Maintain clean and orderly vehicle(s) and supplies in the ambulance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skillful in thinking and acting quickly in stressful situations.
- Able to stand/sit/lift/bend for 12 hour shifts
- Able to multitask, focusing on a number of significant staffing issues simultaneously in a responsible manner.
- Able to maintain harmonious relationships with administrative staff, field personnel, and senior management under stressful situations.
- Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner while working and avoids inappropriate conduct, on and off duty, that may adversely affect the reputation of GEM Mobile Health.
- Able to read, write and speak English clearly and effectively.
- Able to deal sympathetically with others.
- Reflects the standards of professionalism in appearance with neatness and cleanliness.
- Has a good working knowledge of all company policies pertaining to this position.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Driver must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a clean criminal background
- Must be willing to submit a drug screening, physical and PPD
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Z-Endorsement/ Taxi Endorsement on their license is preferred
- EVOC preferred
- CPR certified preferred
