Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of DSP algorithms for voice-enabled applications, such as speech recognition, voice synthesis, noise cancellation, beamforming, and spatial audio.
  • Drive innovation in acoustic signal processing techniques to improve speech clarity, reduce noise, and enhance the overall voice experience in various environments.
  • Design, develop, and test DSP algorithms for embedded systems, ensuring optimal performance and power efficiency on mobile and wearable platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers, to define and deliver exceptional audio experiences.
  • Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest advancements in audio DSP, machine learning, and related fields.
  • Optimize existing DSP algorithms for performance, scalability, and resource constraints.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex DSP issues in embedded systems.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools and libraries to streamline DSP development workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality code.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

  • Deep and demonstrable expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for audio applications, including a strong understanding of signal processing theory and algorithms.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing DSP algorithms for real-time voice processing, with a focus on areas such as speech recognition, noise reduction, and beamforming.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques applied to speech and audio processing, including experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded systems development, including experience with low-power design and optimization.
  • Familiarity with audio codecs and audio coding standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with transducer design and acoustic modeling.
  • Experience with spatial audio technologies.
  • Contributions to open-source audio DSP projects.

The Ideal Candidate: You are a passionate and innovative DSP engineer who thrives on solving challenging technical problems. You possess a strong understanding of the entire audio processing pipeline and are eager to contribute to the creation of exceptional user experiences. You are a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and growth.
