We are seeking passionate and experienced retired teachers to join our team as part-time tutors, making a meaningful impact on the educational journey of students in grades K-12. As a tutor with Sylvan Learning, you will have the opportunity to focus on teaching, without the burden of lesson planning or administrative tasks, and see the results of your work immediately.

Responsibilities will include:

• Teaching students using Sylvan-based programs and materials
• Directing and motivating students during instruction, and rewarding successful work
• Evaluating and documenting student progress, and communicating student needs to our Educational Team
• Developing rapport with students, and establishing a fun and engaging learning environment

Requirements and Qualifications:

To be considered for this opportunity, you should:

• Hold an Education or Teaching Degree, or be in the process of obtaining one (for Reading/English tutors)
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Math, through Algebra 2 (for Math tutors)
• Have a strong ACT/SAT score, and experience with Test Prep (for Test Prep tutors)
• Possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, and the ability to make connections with students
• Be available to work at least one day during the week, and one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)
