Staff Product Designer

Our Dashboard is a primary tool for configuring our components, as well as a centralized place for managing your app’s users.

As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll lead the design direction of the Clerk Dashboard — defining experiences that bridge a complex technical surface area with simplicity, clarity, and joy. You’ll collaborate deeply across disciplines, shape the future of our design systems, and help elevate the craft of design at Clerk.

You will

• Drive strategy and execution for major features and workflows across the Dashboard — from initial discovery through polished implementation.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with PMs, Engineers, and fellow Designers — ensuring design quality from first sketch to final pixel.

• Make the complex feel simple by prototyping, testing, and iterating on elegant interaction patterns for highly technical users.

• Push the boundaries of quality. You’ll advocate for detail, clarity, and usability — and pair closely with our exceptional UI Engineers to deliver exceptional front-end experiences.

• Shape our design system. You'll contribute to and evolve our visual language, accessibility standards, and component libraries — all grounded in real-world usage.

• Mentor and elevate others. As a senior member of the design team, you’ll provide feedback, share best practices, and raise the bar for what design means at Clerk.

• You’re a Staff-level (or rising Senior+) Product Designer with deep experience designing complex, high-utility software, ideally in domains like authentication, dev tools, cloud platforms, or B2B SaaS.

• You speak developer — you understand the mental models, workflows, and expectations of a technical audience.

• You sweat the details — and know that great experiences are often made in the final 10% of refinement.

• You’re comfortable with ambiguity and confident leading through complexity — you know how to align stakeholders and push through roadblocks.

• You’re fluent in modern design tools (Figma, prototyping, design systems) and familiar with the basics of HTML/CSS/React — or excited to level up in that direction.

• You thrive in fast-moving, high-autonomy environments where you’re trusted to define problems and deliver solutions.
