At BJAK, we’re using AI to make insurance and financial services easier to access, understand, and afford for millions across Southeast Asia. As an AI Software Engineer, you’ll help build the systems and tools that power this mission, from personalised recommendations and fraud detection to intelligent automation and search. This is a remote role based in Indonesia, working closely with our Malaysia HQ and regional teams. You’ll join a fast-moving environment where your ideas and execution directly shape real-world outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Work with product and data teams to define machine learning goals and strategies

• Build and deploy ML models and tools that support personalization, automation, and insight generation

• Handle data pre processing, feature engineering, and model training/evaluation

• Help develop scalable ML infrastructure and pipelines

• Integrate ML outputs into products and user-facing features

• Stay updated on the latest AI trends and apply them as relevant

• Support debugging, optimization, and system maintenance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

• 2-4 years of experience in AI or backend software development

• Strong Python skills, with experience in frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn

• Understanding of key ML workflows: data cleaning, model building, evaluation, and tuning

• Familiarity with API development or model deployment in real-world environments

• Experience working with tools like Google Colab, Jupyter, or cloud ML platforms

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Based in Indonesia and open to remote collaboration

Nice to Have

• Experience with NLP, computer vision, or recommender systems

• Exposure to cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP)

• Familiarity with Docker, Git, or CI/CD tools

• Experience working in high-growth or startup teams
