We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager - Embedded to join our team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you will lead and scale the embedded-software group responsible for the firmware that powers every Bloq.it locker, ensuring our platforms remain secure, reliable, and ahead of the innovation curve.

What will be your responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of embedded-systems engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning;
• Own the strategic roadmap for firmware and embedded-platform evolution, aligning with product, hardware, and cloud teams to meet business goals;
• Guide architecture decisions across RTOS, Linux (Yocto/Torizon), driver stacks, OTA frameworks, and security, ensuring scalability and robustness;
• Drive execution and release management - from concept through staged rollout - by establishing agile processes, automated CI/CD, and rigorous testing standards;
• Manage fleet-wide deployments and over-the-air (OTA) updates to our global network of smart-locker devices, safeguarding uptime and customer experience;
• Establish and track KPIs for code quality, release cadence, field performance, and fleet health; leverage telemetry to drive continuous improvement;
• Represent the embedded domain in executive discussions, partnering with Product, Operations, and Customer Success to translate market feedback into engineering action.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• 5 + years of professional experience in embedded-software engineering, with at least 3 years leading or managing high-performing teams;
• Deep hands-on knowledge of C/C++ and Python, RTOS concepts, Linux (Yocto, Buildroot, or similar), driver development, and secure OTA update system;
• Proven success managing release pipelines and rolling out firmware to large fleets of IoT or edge devices (10 k + endpoints) with zero-touch updates and rollback strategies;
• Demonstrated ability to define technical roadmaps and engineering standards that raise code quality and accelerate delivery;
• Strong project-management skills (Scrum/Kanban), comfortable coordinating multiple concurrent initiatives and external vendors;
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills, bridging hardware, firmware, software, and non-technical teams;
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
