Job Overview We are seeking a committed and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide virtual support for an elementary student during the 2024-2025 academic year. In this full-time position, you will have the opportunity to earn a competitive salary while making a significant difference in a student's educational experience... Key Responsibilities • Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation for an elementary student in a virtual learning context. • Promote effective communication between the student, educators, and classmates using American Sign Language (ASL). • Ensure that all instructional materials and discussions are accessible to the student. • Uphold confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all educational scenarios. • Collaborate with teachers to support the student’s learning and growth. • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and assist in evaluating student progress as needed. Required Skills • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • Capacity to work independently and effectively manage time in a remote environment. Qualifications • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher is required. • Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings is essential. • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in virtual interpretation. • Candidates must have successfully completed the written examination for sign language interpretation.
