Job Summary Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assumes responsibility for collecting data related to patient status, performing basic nursing procedures, and ongoing documentation of patient data. Essential Functions:  All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.  Assists patients with activities of daily living and hygiene, turns and repositions patients, transports patients, and assists with walking.  Assists adult/pediatric patients with toileting needs, including emptying established colostomy bags and urinary catheter removal.  Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated, removing and reapplying anti-emboli hose or compression devices.  Assists with admission of patients to the unit by preparing room, greeting, and orienting patient and/or family.  Takes and records vital signs, prepares patients for meals, and provides snacks and supplements.  Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens, completes documentation in EMR, and maintains cleanliness and order of hospital rooms.  Performs point of care testing as trained and delegated by RN, reports lab values to RN, and performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements  Education - Completion of a nursing assistant program preferred.  Experience - No previous experience required.
