Job title: Coordinator - Religious Educator (CRE) in Wentzville, MO at Archdiocese of Saint Louis Company: Archdiocese of Saint Louis Job description: Job SummaryThe Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) serves as a valuable part of the ministry team at St. Patrick Parish in Wentzville. Reporting to the pastor, the CRE works in conjunction with the ministry team to provide comprehensive evangelization efforts for the parish through the Parish School of Religion (PSR). This is a catechetical, spiritual and administrative position. This position maintains accurate records of sacraments of PSR students, PSR enrollment, PSR budget, and other events as needed.Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate booking and ordering of materials for PSR classes and events,
• Conduct PSR and VBS Enrollment, collect tuition/fees, and administer scholarships
• Ensure all catechists and volunteers have completed tax forms & are in compliance with Safe Environment protocols
• Coordinate Parent & Family Formation Events
• Prepare and direct liturgies and other worship events for PSR families
• Communicate with parents on behalf of PSR and other parish events
• Teach Safe Touch and maintain archdiocesan compliance
• Ensure archdiocesan compliance of Emergency Drills for the Parish School of Religion
• Oversee the development, implementation and ongoing assessment of a comprehensive religious education curriculum for children in the PSR program
• Direct the preparation and celebration of sacraments with PSR children
• Assist and involve parents in developing the faith and sacramental life of their children
• Provide guidance and incorporate home-schooled children into parish sacramental celebrations
• Recruit, select, develop, train, supervise and evaluate catechists for the PSR.
• Facilitate the spiritual and professional growth of catechists; serve as a resource to catechists
• Pursue ongoing professional development and ministry formation to remain up to date on matters of theology, catechesis, and best practice
• Create and disseminate a weekly newsletter for parents and a weekly newsletter for catechists
• Parent point of contact for PSR concerns, needs, and questions
• Update PSR Parent Handbook and webpage as needed
• Discuss and determine financial assistance for families in coordination with the Business Manager.
• Plan and host parent sacramental meetings and formation events
• Create program calendar in accordance with Archdiocesan guidelines
• Assess curriculum and program needs annually
• Assist with development of PSR budget
• Provides administrative & formational support to Christian Initiation Ministry (CIM) team

Job Requirements

• Candidates should be practicing Catholics willing to help build St. Patrick as a community of faith.

• Uphold teachings of the Catholic Church

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in theology, education, or a related field
• 3 or more years of experience in religious education or parish ministry
• Proficient in Spanish preferred
