This role involves teaching an evening section of class starting at 8:00pm, 9:30pm, or 11:00 pm Eastern. Department: Gravitas, A Global Extension of the Stony Brook School Job Status: Part Time position Primary Office Location: Remote Start Date: August 11, 2025 End Date: June 6, 2026 Qualifications ? Bachelor's or master's degree in Math, Science, English, History, Philosophy, Theology, Bible, Spanish, French, or Education. ? Minimum of three years of teaching experience, including online instruction ? Strong organizational skills and ability to meet grading and project deadlines ? High energy, strong work ethic, and the ability to effectively engage with teenagers in an online environment. ? Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to responding promptly to all communications. ? Eagerness to serve in a faith-based learning environment that emphasizes faithful Christian scholarship and character formation ? Proficiency with technology, including the ability to navigate a learning management system (e.g., Canvas LMS), online educational tools, and create screencasts/videos. ? Reliable, high-speed internet access. ? Experience working collaboratively with a team of teachers, with a focus on providing and receiving constructive feedback in a transparent, growth-oriented culture. ? Ability to interact professionally with parents, students, and other community members. ? Cultural awareness and sensitivity, as our students come from diverse global backgrounds. ? A demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning. ? Maturity and stability to thrive in a demanding role. Primary Responsibilities ? Provide both synchronous and asynchronous instruction and support. ? Grade student assignments and provide timely, constructive feedback. ?
