Freight Analyst

As a TMS (Transportation Management System) Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of transportation processes. You will work with internal stakeholders and external carriers to optimize supply chain and logistics operations, utilizing the Freight platform to drive efficiency and cost savings.

This role requires strong analytical skills, familiarity with transportation management systems, and a solid understanding of freight operations.

Responsibilities

• TMS Management: Administer and maintain the Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure seamless freight booking, tracking, and optimization of carrier networks.
• Data Analysis: Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the supply chain.
• Reporting & Insights: Create and present reports and dashboards to provide insights into transportation performance, cost metrics, and carrier performance.
• Carrier Coordination: Work closely with carriers and internal teams to ensure timely execution and compliance with transportation plans.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (logistics, finance, operations) to drive continuous improvements in the TMS workflows and user experience.
• Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues related to TMS functionality, data discrepancies, and shipment tracking.
• System Optimization: Continuously monitor and identify opportunities for optimizing TMS processes and leveraging automation for more efficient operations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between technical teams and operations to ensure TMS configurations meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience (1-3 years) in transportation management, logistics, or supply chain analysis, preferably in a tech-enabled logistics environment.
• Hands-on experience with TMS systems (preferably Uber Freight or similar platforms like SAP, Oracle, or Manhattan).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel, SQL, or similar data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with transportation operations and freight pricing models.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Uber Freight or other digital freight platforms.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Basic understanding of APIs and integrations with TMS.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, such as DOT (Department of Transportation) or FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration)
