A bit about us: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Home Building/Lending industry. An established company with a cool, high velocity work ethos, where each person can make a difference! Job Details As a Permanent Staff Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include: 1. Preparing and maintaining financial records, including receipts, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions. 2. Performing monthly bank reconciliations and managing ACH transfers. 3. Utilizing advanced Excel functions, such as V-lookup and pivot tables, for data analysis and reporting. 4. Preparing accurate journal entries for financial transactions and adjustments. 5. Using Softpro and Loan Vision software for efficient and accurate accounting operations. 6. Collaborating with the finance team to streamline accounting procedures and refine financial reporting systems. 7. Assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports. 8. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions. 9. Providing support to the home builder and escrow departments as needed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Staff Accountant position should possess the following qualifications: 1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the Home Builder/Mortgage/Lending or construction industry or similar. 3. Advanced in Excel, including expertise in V-lookup and pivot tables. 4. Experience with Softpro & Loan Vision software a plus! 5. Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process as well as ACH transfers 6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
