Proposal Writer

CDR Maguire, Inc., a national engineering and emergency management firm, is seeking an experienced Proposal Writer to lead the development of high-quality, strategic, and compliant proposals in response to client Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and other solicitations. This role requires strong project management, writing, and organizational skills to coordinate and develop persuasive proposals that effectively communicate the company?s value and expertise. Reporting directly to the President, the Proposal Coordinator will oversee the proposal process from initiation to submission, working closely with technical teams, subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure proposals align with company goals and client requirements. This position requires the ability to manage multiple deadlines, tailor responses to enhance proposal strategy, and maintain a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in proposal writing, content development, and marketing communications. Experience in emergency management, engineering, or related industries is preferred. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is required. Supports Marketing/Proposal Coordinator by identifying and supplying information from existing libraries and databases to support proposal document strategy. ? Manages information capture, update, and revisions to project, resume, graphics, reference, and other data. ? Interviews technical staff and subsequently writes resumes, project descriptions for proposals, and copy for web, brochures, and print, etc. ? Works with technical staff to develop proposal sections and scopes of work. ? Coordinates proposal concept/content by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for qualifications/proposals (RFQ/Ps); attending strategy meetings. ? Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals. ? Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals. Requirements ? WRITING SKILLS are necessary for this position. ? Emergency Management experience (preferred). ? Ability to work with tight deadlines and multitask. ? Self-starter, able to work independently and able to multi-task in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment. ? Ability to read, comprehend and execute proposal instructions and responses, tailoring responses to effectively communicate proposal strategy. ? Excellent interpersonal relationship skills ability to take ownership of assignments from start to finish. ? Demonstrated graphic design skills. ? Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). ? Attention to detail and highly organized. ? You must work well under pressure and be able to occasionally work irregular hours to meet deadlines. ? Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience in crisis communication, marketing, journalism, English, engineering, or equivalent company (preferred).
