About the position As a Barista at Barnes & Noble, you will play a crucial role in providing first-class service to our customers, ensuring that every drink you create and every cookie you bake enhances their experience. Your primary focus will be on making the customer experience pleasurable, serving as the perfect complement to the books that our customers love. Your passion for coffee and your ability to create inspiring drinks, combined with your knowledge of the caf?, will ensure that customers are delighted by the handcrafted beverages you serve. You will also support the cluster structure and work collaboratively with your team for the betterment of all stores in the cluster. In this role, you will be required to work on the caf? floor, which involves physical activity such as prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, climbing, and operating espresso machines. You will deliver the perfect beverage that exceeds customer expectations by engaging with them, building rapport, listening to their needs, and providing friendly, fast service through a tailored order creation approach. Making relevant beverage and food recommendations will be essential to ensure an engaging experience that connects customers with the right products to meet their needs. Maintaining a welcoming caf? environment is key, which includes having a stocked bake case and neatly displayed merchandise. You will take pride in the caf?, prioritizing cleanliness and tidiness, knowing that these aspects are integral to the customer experience. Executing all operational standards correctly and in a timely manner, while adhering to caf? standards, safety, and health codes, will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will protect company assets by following all processes and working efficiently to control waste and shrink.
