US PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY A well known client to our agency is seeking a governess/teacher to meet the educational and care needs of their young child during. We are unfortunately seeking another candidate for this lovely family due to visa issues with the past governess. The family will be located in Texas and is seeking a qualified teacher to support their child academically. The child will need to follow a curriculum, be provided with daily classes to keep him on level with his peers. You will also be required to provide and assist with his daily care which could include getting him up in the mornings, making meals, escorting him to additional activities and excursions, and bedtime duties. This is a lovely opportunity for a teacher to leave the classroom and use the environment, culture, and world around them to allow the child to learn, explore and grow. Formal classes will be required as well as project work, excursions, extracurricular activities, play and games to promote the childs learning. Whilst education will be the main focus, care duties are involved. The ideal candidate will be flexible, energetic, kind, well-mannered, be relaxed around the parents and active. As a teacher you will need to be capable of adapting their classes to different environments, making each location a new learning experience and linking in with the interests of the child. The governess/teacher should hold a PGCE (or equivalent) and have previous experience of working in private households and traveling with families. Being confident in undertaking care duties is essential. Drivers license required. Speaking and offering a second language would be beneficial to your application. Accommodation is provided. A shared apartment with staff close by to the family home is provided. The working schedule is 5 days on/2 days off. Working hours will be 12 hours per day. Overtime paid for overnight stays/proxy parenting. A competitive salary is on offer to the right candidate. 9 month contract. Interviews taking place ASAP with an immediate start date.
