Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate, Optimization to join our Eligibility and Billing Optimization team.

About the role

You will collaborate cross-functionally with both business and technical Oscar stakeholders to represent the E&B Optimization department needs and interests. You will lead strategic initiatives and problem-solving efforts related to enrollment, eligibility, and billing processes that require automation, internal tooling, or other technical enablement for our operations teams. Responsibilities include process design, optimization, and implementation to achieve scalability and operational efficiency. Projects involve requirement gathering, project planning and management, decision documentation, data analysis, testing and risk mitigation strategy development and communication across various initiatives and stakeholders.

You will report to the Associate Director, E&B Technical Operations.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Pay Transparency

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $$93,600 - $122,850 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $84,240 - $110,565per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end management of cross-functional implementations/projects, including project plan creation, stakeholder engagement, managing cross-functional relationships to drive collaboration, edge case mitigation, and on-time completion.
  • Evaluate project priority and performance by creating, gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics and assisting in development of departmental success metrics
  • Collaboratively works with all relevant internal and external stakeholder groups to formulate proactive implementation, communications, and program strategies for successful change management and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Mentor team members and promotes colleagues' growth and professional development
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with end to end project management
  • 2+ years of experience designing and improving workflows and standing up accompanying operating and technical procedures
  • 2+ years of experience using data software such as Excel and SQL, and conducting data analysis
  • A bachelor's degree or 3+ years commensurate experience
Bonus Points
  • 3+ years of work experience in enrollment and billing, health insurance, and data analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or other related field
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
  • 2+ years of experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and/or Theory of constraints

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
