Actuarial Associate II - Remote

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Actuarial Associate II! About the role The Stop Loss Actuarial Pricing team is looking for an actuarial student to focus on the evaluation of healthcare network data as a key component of our rating algorithm. What you will do • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from both internal and external sources to assess the strength of various major medical networks • Conduct regular audits of rated networks to contribute to profitable growth • Collaborate internally with Underwriting and Sales teams • Maintain and enhance claims and hospital contract evaluation models • Make process improvements and build new tools as technology evolves • Assist in the annual rate manual update process • Continue to develop industry knowledge and understand our book of business • Participate in the Actuarial Student Program to pass exams and achieve your actuarial designation Why work at Symetra “If you want to invest in yourself and build a career, this is a great place to work. Compensation

Salary Range: $77,600 – $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs Who you are • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics • 2 years of actuarial experience, Stop Loss knowledge preferred • 3+ actuarial exams completed, prior to attaining your ASA • Committed to self-development, attaining industry knowledge, and passing actuarial exams to earn your FSA • Effective communicator including technical writing • Skilled at working collaboratively • Experience with Python, SQL, and Snowflake strongly preferred • High school diploma required We empower inclusion At Symetra, we aspire to be the most inclusive insurance company in the country.
