Summary: Phlebotomist/Certified Lab Assistant Works on an "As Needed" basis Lab is open 24 hours a day Description: QUALIFICATIONS:Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a medical assistant or phlebotomist preferred. Experience as a phlebotomist drawing neonates, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics a plus. Needs to have a moderate knowledge of medical terminology and excellent clerical skills. Must have excellent customer service skills. Qualifications in accordance with Federal Register (CLIA**) part 493, subpart M, Personnel Qualifications. PRIMARY FUNCTION:Under the general supervision of the laboratory director, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility of performing venipuncture and related procedures under the philosophy, policies and procedures established by the hospital and laboratory. This position works on an "As Needed" basis. The laboratory is opened 24 hours a day. Shift, weekend and holiday differential pay in addition to base pay.
