JOB DESCRIPTION Transitioning from your current role as a Notary to becoming a Digital Reporter ("DR") could be a significant shift. As a DR, you would oversee civil litigation proceedings and document all aspects, including witness testimony. It involves a more detailed and procedural involvement in legal proceedings compared to typical notarial duties. Are you interested in exploring this transition further? The Digital Reporter is responsible for: ? Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record. ? Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties. ? Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation. ? Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription. ? Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources. ? Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently. REQUIREMENTS ? State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it. ? Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states). ? Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings. ? Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment. ? Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings. ? Proficiency in spoken and written English. ? Comfortable with technology, particularly strong in keyboard skills. ? Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance. ? Open to working as an independent contractor. ? Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required. ?
