Senior Staff Engineer - Java (REMOTE)

About the position The Senior Staff Engineer will lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap aimed at enhancing product delivery and unlocking new engineering capabilities. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to innovate and improve systems while providing technical leadership across multiple domains. Responsibilities • Provide technical and thought leadership to the enterprise across multiple areas. , • Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems. , • Develop and execute a technical software development strategy for various domains. , • Ensure the quality, usability, and performance of solutions. , • Utilize programming languages such as Python, C#, SQL, and NoSQL databases, along with container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes. , • Mentor and coach engineering and product teams to strengthen technical expertise. , • Influence and educate executives on technical matters. , • Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams. , • Analyze costs and forecasts, incorporating them into business plans. , • Support resource requirements and evaluate operational processes to ensure desired results. Requirements • 10+ years of professional software development experience within a Java framework (J2EE, web containers and Java). , • 8+ years of experience with architecture and design. , • 6+ years of experience in open-source frameworks. , • 4+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service. , • Exemplary ability to design, perform experiments, and influence engineering direction and product roadmap. , • Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production. , • Track record of publications in credible conferences and journals. , • Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code. , • In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms. , • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Nice-to-haves • Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages such as Java, C++, Python, or C#. , • Experience with microservices-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs. , • Fluency in DevOps concepts, cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps operational framework. , • Experience in leveraging PowerShell scripting. , • Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments.
