Senior Manager - Payroll

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing our payroll operations and ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payments. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our organization. Oversee and manage all aspects of the payroll operations for Discover Financial Services. Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payments, including salaries, bonuses, and benefits. Develop and implement new payroll processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. Stay up-to-date on all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations and ensure compliance in all payroll practices. Monitor and analyze payroll data to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues. Collaborate with the finance department and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll data. Train and develop a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality and cost-effective payroll services. Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices. Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes, systems, and technology to streamline operations and increase efficiency. Prepare and present payroll reports and analysis to senior management. Proactively identify and communicate potential payroll risks and provide recommendations for mitigation. Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll information and handle sensitive employee data with discretion. Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll-related inquiries and provide guidance to employees and managers.
