The Senior Underwriting position will analyze health benefit plan characteristics through case risk evaluation, and product pricing. They will utilize established underwriting criteria and policies to provide proper rating methodologies. This Senior Underwriter will represent and negotiate fees/rates and plan options to optimize cost-competitive health benefit plans. They will utilize pricing models to assist in the economic analysis of new business and renewal customers. This role is based in the Minnetonka, MN office; hybrid work environment in office 3 days with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop Fully Insured and Level Funded comparative benefit packages for New Business and Renewals, review claim experience, and apply underwriting guidelines to prepare prospect fees/rates. • Manage the health plan renewal process for the small business segment. • Ability to apply appropriate underwriting criteria and policies to provide proper rating consistent with set guidelines, and assess risk to determine pricing. • Negotiate with internal and external partners regarding price, contractual terms, and/or guarantees. • Support Marketing in completing request for proposals. • Provide technical subject matter expertise to the sales staff and district offices on new health care proposals. • Complete ad-hoc projects and reporting. Required Qualifications: • 1+ years of underwriting experience. • Proficiency with MS Office suite products (specifically MS Excel). • Proven excellent communication skills, orally and written. • Reside within commutable distance to Minnetonka, MN. Preferred Qualifications: • 2+ years of Financial Underwriting experience in healthcare industry. • Proven effective negotiation skills. • Proven excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply Job!
