Remote Principal Technical Administrator | WFH

Job Overview We are looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking Principal Technical Administrator to spearhead the design, architecture, and strategic vision of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab. This pivotal role will enable you to influence the technical framework that sustains both academic and industry-focused AI initiatives, fostering a vibrant and adaptable learning ecosystem. You will collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and industry stakeholders to ensure that the lab remains at the forefront of AI advancements, serving as a premier resource for research and education. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and execution of the AI Lab's technical architecture, including hardware, software, and networking components. • Engage with faculty, students, and industry partners to evaluate and fulfill the evolving technical requirements of the lab. • Formulate and maintain a comprehensive strategic roadmap for the AI Lab, ensuring alignment with the institution’s long-term objectives in AI research and education. • Collaborate with stakeholders to adopt new technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance the lab’s capabilities. • Ensure the security, stability, and scalability of the lab's AI systems and infrastructure. • Guide, mentor, and support junior technical staff, facilitating their growth in addressing complex technical challenges. • Manage budgetary considerations and procurement for all technical resources necessary for the lab. Required Skills • Proficient in Linux-based operating systems (particularly Debian distributions) and Kubernetes. • In-depth knowledge of AI frameworks, GPU computing, and data center operations. • Strong leadership abilities with proven skills in effective communication and project management across teams. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred). • Over 7 years of extensive experience in IT infrastructure design and management, particularly in areas related to AI, high-performance computing, or cloud environments. • Proven track record of leading and managing technical projects from inception to successful execution.
