Entry Level Mechanical Designer

LPA is seeking a passionate Entry Level Mechanical Designer to join our integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and master planners. As a member of our mechanical engineering team, you will work on a broad range of projects from office, education and recreation buildings to complex laboratories, health care facilities, and performing arts centers. What You Will Do • Participate in the integrated design process with other disciplines at LPA • Assist Engineers, Architects, Project Designers and Project Managers in the execution of building design assignments • Prepare engineering calculations and documentation for schematic design, design development and construction documents • Select equipment, systems and products related to projects • Review and process construction administration documents • Attend construction meetings and field visits to further understand detailing and coordination What We Will Do • Provide mentorship from Managing Directors and Design Directors as well as other in-house disciplines on all projects • Provide career growth opportunities including licensure materials and financial incentives, professional development grants and our professional development process • Education opportunities including LPA+U, LPA Tech Talks and Lunch and Learns Entry-Level Mechanical Designer Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field • 0-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering and the design of building HVAC systems • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, and good knowledge of energy analysis software preferred • Enthusiastic commitment to the multidisciplinary design process and team environment • Curious and open minded to learn • Strong written and verbal communication skills LPA is an integrated design firm with offices in California and Texas. The salary range for this position is $64,000 - $94,000 and is eligible for an annual bonus. If you are hired at LPA, your base salary is based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience and/or project complexity.
