Your primary mission will be to accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedure codes for both inpatient and outpatient... accounts, following regulatory and CMS guidelines. Responsibilities

Assign appropriate DRG and ICD-10 codes to diagnoses and procedures for accurate billing. Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure precise code assignment. Perform audits to assess coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. Adhere to Health Information Management (HIM) Coding policies and guidelines. Apply American Hospital Association (AHA) Official Coding Guidelines to support accurate principal, secondary diagnoses, and procedures. Follow The Joint Commission (TJC) and other third-party documentation guidelines to enhance coding quality and accuracy. Utilize your knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Disease Pathology, and Medical Terminology in coding tasks. Navigate Electronic Medical Records (EMR) effectively to identify necessary documentation for billing and coding.

Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) credential required. Experience with HB Coding systems such as EPIC and 3M is a plus.
