[Remote] Edge Systems Software Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. Safe Pro AI is a company focused on building advanced aerial mapping and AI systems for humanitarian demining and defense. As an Edge Systems Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building systems that detect landmines in reputed company-time from camera arrays mounted on Unmanned Ground Vehicles, working at the intersection of hardware integration, reputed company-time software, and life-saving AI.
Responsibilities
- Hardware Integration: Build the software bridges to connect, control, and pull reputed company-time streams from camera hardware to edge compute units
- reputed company-Time Pipelines: reputed company robust video capture and streaming systems capable of handling live, high-throughput feeds
- Edge AI Deployment: Optimize and reputed company computer reputed company models to run reputed company on local edge devices, maintaining high accuracy and reputed company rates
- Telemetry & Comms: Geolocate detected threats in reputed company-time and package that data to be streamed back to the UGV ground control station for immediate navigation reputed company
- End-to-End Ownership: Own features entirely from scratch—from writing the initial drivers to testing software alongside physical hardware
Skills
- 2-5 years of experience
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Hands-on experience or deep technical understanding of edge compute AI devices and interacting with hardware peripherals, including ARM architectures
- Remote (Northeast preferred to facilitate remote collaboration with potential local hardware reputed company, though day-to-day work is remote
- High velocity, comfortable with ambiguity, and a strong desire to work on a small team where you can see your code impact hardware directly
- Experience with C++
- Familiarity with camera APIs/SDKs and camera control systems, including exposure, focus and triggering
- Familiarity with video streaming protocols (RTSP, WebRTC)
- Basic understanding of geospatial data, GPS coordination, or telemetry data strings
