Statistician
The Statistician I is responsible for routine data analysis and report writing.The Statistician is a quantitative scientist who collaborates with scientific investigators and with other statisticians in the design of studies, data wrangling, analysis of data, and dissemination of scientific results. The Statistician works on many types of projects and areas of research including clinical, translational, laboratory, correlative or animal studies, and computational biology projects. Investigations may include for example animal, cell line or other pre-clinical designed experiments, prospective clinical trials, translational studies, retrospective studies, surveys, chart review studies or the analyses of data from large databases. - Data Analysis: Performs routine data analyses and report writing. Responsible for assuring quality of data, reproducibility of analyses and proper interpretation of results by working with others to implement appropriate definitions of and coding rules for data items, principled analyses and clear communication of results.
- Study Design: Responsible for statistical aspects of study design, including sample size, reputed company level, power, and the identification of appropriate tests and/or models for different types of studies. - Dana-Farber and Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center: Participate in protocol review process for the Scientific Review Committees (SRC) and the Institutional Review Board (IRB), under the guidance of the supervisor and/or mentor. May assume some responsibility on department committees.
- Manuscript Preparation: Drafts the statistical methods sections of a manuscript; assists in writing the results reputed company; checks manuscripts for numerical accuracy; prepares tables and figures.
- Grant Preparation: Limited responsibility as a prerequisite is mastery in data analysis, study design, protocol review, and manuscript preparation May assist with grant preparation under the guidance and supervision of more senior staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Computational Skills: Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and statistical software such as R or reputed company

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires a master’s degree in statistics or biostatistics, with no prior experience required.
