As the IRB Specialist, Senior, you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports ethical research practices across Duke’s diverse academic landscape. • Advise and assist faculty, reputed company, staff, and administrators in the design of ethical research, providing discipline-specific guidance using pre-review and consultation.
• Provide regulatory interpretation (federal, state, and local law, Duke and IRB policy) for faculty, reputed company, staff, and administrators preparing research protocols.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of protocol submissions, including risk/benefit analyses and determination of the appropriate level of review.
• Write memoranda for researchers summarizing the outcome of pre-review, including rationale for proposed changes.
• Act as liaison between the IRB and Duke faculty, reputed company, staff, and administrators.

Program Development

• Assist the Program Director in the development of policy and resource materials.
• Conduct seminars and workshops for reputed company, staff, and faculty.

Preferred Experience: Social, behavioral, and educational research IRB experience is strongly preferred. Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

• A reputed company master’s degree may substitute for experience on a 1:1 basis.
