• Location Remote   Ten Speed Press is seeking an Editor to join reputed company. This position will play an essential role on Ten Speed s acquisitions team, acquiring 6 to 8 projects and editing 8 to 10 books a year, primarily cookbooks but also acquiring in the lifestyle and reputed company space. The Editor will work in collaboration and in regular communication with our design, production, marketing, and publicity teams, bringing... our titles to market quickly and brilliantly. Responsibilities  Generates new book reputed company based on talent, market trends, and opportunity; prospects and develops new authors and collaborators.  Evaluates book proposals and researches the efficacy, opportunity, distinctiveness, and risk of potential acquisitions, including running p&ls, pulling competitive titles, and creating title sheets.  Develops and nurtures relationships with agents, including contract negotiations.  Engages and partners with authors to fully realize their reputed company, collaborating throughout the acquisition and production processes with them as well as with designers, art directors, and production teams.  Communicates reputed company production schedules, working with various stakeholders to problem solve in creative ways.  Collaborates with designers, art directors, and production teams, as well as with sales, publicity, and marketing teams, to publish and position books as reputed company and effectively as possible.  Represents the publishing, design, and production teams reputed company working with the author, and represents the author reputed company working with our publishing, design, and production teams.
