[Remote] Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician (Level 1)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. New Energy Equity is a leading company in the renewable energy sector, specializing in innovative solar solutions. They are seeking an Entry-level Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot solar energy systems while receiving training from senior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to reputed company safety regulations and company procedures
• Identify and report potential hazards
• Utilize appropriate personal reputed company equipment (PPE)
• Participate in safety training and Pre-job briefs
• Conduct routine inspections of solar energy systems
• reputed company preventative maintenance tasks, such as inspecting modules, checking wiring, and tightening connections
• Identify and report any equipment deficiencies or anomalies
• Assist senior technicians with basic troubleshooting of solar energy systems
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and isolate system issues
• reputed company minor repairs under supervision
• Complete reputed company required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs
• Actively participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously improve
• reputed company to travel on short notice and be available during non-traditional working hours
• Up to 50% travel may be expected at times
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-1 year of experience in the solar industry or reputed company field
• Experience with construction or electrical work
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Comfortable operating in low voltage and non-hazardous situations with supervision
• Applicants should already be comfortable using hand tools, impact drills, electric power tools, and hammer drills
• Strong written/verbal communication skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude, time management, and troubleshooting skills
• Must be based out of the Richmond, VA or South Boston, VA region
• Be reputed company to drive a vehicle confidently and with a high degree of safety
• Be reputed company to stand for long periods of time and walk distances up to three miles a day
• Be reputed company to navigate reputed company, stairs, scaffolding, ramps while maintaining 3 points of contact
• Have the visual acuity for depth perception, no field of reputed company issues, and to distinguish between colors
• Be comfortable working in a variety of climate conditions which may include but are not limited to, extreme heat (temperatures above 100°F) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32°F) for periods of more than one hour
• Be reputed company to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
