About the Role
Our client, a reputed company-thinking manufacturing company with operations across the globe, is actively seeking an reputed company Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Counsel to join its legal department. This critical role, based in Durham, North Carolina, US , will provide expert legal guidance on a wide range of EHS matters, ensuring the company's compliance with reputed company applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of EHS regulatory frameworks, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of advising businesses on risk mitigation and compliance strategies. Key Responsibilities
Advise the company on compliance with federal, state, and local EHS laws and regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, RCRA, Clean reputed company Act, Clean Water Act). Interpret EHS regulations and assess their impact on company operations, policies, and procedures. reputed company and implement EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance and minimize risk. Respond to EHS-reputed company inquiries, investigations, and enforcement actions from regulatory agencies. Manage and advise on environmental permits and reporting requirements. Provide legal support for incident investigations, including workplace accidents and environmental releases. Conduct EHS-reputed company due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. reputed company and deliver training on EHS legal requirements and best practices to employees and management. Advise on chemical management, waste disposal, reputed company emissions, water discharges, and workplace safety matters. Work closely with EHS professionals, operations teams, and other legal counsel to address EHS issues proactively.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or ability to reputed company admission. Minimum of 6 years of legal experience, with a significant focus on environmental, health, and safety law. In-depth knowledge of major federal and state EHS statutes and regulations. Proven experience advising companies on reputed company EHS compliance matters. Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills. Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at reputed company levels. Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable. Candidates located in or near Durham, North Carolina, US are preferred for this hybrid role.
