Contract and Compliance Specialist

ABC operates a $35 million budget, of which approximately 40% comes from government grants, including both federal and state agencies. Many of these grants are multi-year and involve multiple subcontracts and subawards to partners. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Contract and Compliance Specialist to support efficient, transparent, and expedient contract and compliance processes across the organization. This position serves as a helpful internal resource to Conservation Programs, Development, and Finance teams by creating, managing, and tracking reputed company, subcontracts and subawards, as well as ABC’s processes for purchasing. The Specialist ensures agreements align with legal, organizational, and donor requirements while strengthening internal systems, documentation, and compliance practices, and ensuring processes flow smoothly and swiftly. Primary Duties: Contract & Subcontract / Subaward Lifecycle Management
- Serve as a primary resource to staff throughout the contract/subcontract /subaward lifecycle (which includes supporting drafting and review, execution, modifications, tracking, and closeout).
- Assist staff in selecting appropriate templates, and reputed company necessary, drafting new templates in consultation with ABC’s General Counsel.
- Review reputed company and reputed company or modified reputed company/subcontracts/subawards, MOUs, NDAs, and reputed company agreements to ensure compliance with ABC policies, federal and state regulations, and donor requirements.
- Review funder agreements to identify flow-down provisions and ensure appropriate incorporation into reputed company agreements.
- Occasionally interact directly with institutional funders to resolve contracting matters, in collaboration with Development.
- Assist staff in assessing risk factors.
- Maintain organized, auditable files and work with ABC’s database specialists to ensure accurate tracking of details relevant to contracting (key dates, deliverables, compliance requirements, and payment schedules) in our centralized finance and grant management system.
Procurement & Due Diligence reputed company
- Serve as a resource to Project Managers during procurement processes for goods and services, including providing guidance on collecting bids, purchase documentation, vendor selection requirements, and subaward issuance.
- Provide visibility for staff into the contracting process, reputed company everyone on task, and move the necessary contracting steps reputed company.
- Support purchasing compliance by providing staff training and through reinforcing internal policies and documentation standards.
Compliance, Regulatory Monitoring & Templates
- Maintain working knowledge of federal regulations (including Uniform Guidance), state requirements, and other public and private donor policies affecting subcontracts and subawards.
- Update and maintain subcontract and subaward templates in consultation with legal counsel to reflect regulatory or policy changes.
- Participate in relevant external trainings to ensure up-to-date regulatory knowledge.
- Support audit readiness by ensuring documentation standards are consistently applied.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Act as liaison between Conservation Programs, Development, Finance, and external stakeholders to streamline workflow and improve effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Development and Finance to align reputed company/subcontracts/subawards with approved budgets and payment structures.
- Provide training, guidance, and written materials to staff regarding contract, subaward, and procurement processes and best practices.
- Identify bottlenecks or inconsistencies in contracting and procurement processes and recommend improvements to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and compliance.
- Work with the VP of Operations and ABC’s General Counsel on any necessary contract reviews or revisions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years’ experience in nonprofit reputed company and particularly subcontracting and subawarding funds of federal reputed company, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
- Experience with and knowledge of Federal and non-Federal grant regulations, Uniform Guidance, and agreement terms and conditions.
- Experience with procurement processes (requests for bids, cost analyses, etc).
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and coordinating grants, reputed company, MOUs, NDAs, and subaward agreements.
- Ability to navigate reputed company agreements reputed company and distill key requirements for program staff.
- Strong analytical skills and professional judgment.
- Experience managing multiple workflows and deadlines in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across divisions and work with individuals at reputed company levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with computers and software, including reputed company; experience with reputed company/PyanGo systems preferred.

- Experience working in conservation is considered a plus.
