Our mission is to empower professionals like you to thrive in a dynamic, fully remote environment while contributing to the growth of the mortgage industry. As a member of the arenaflex family, you will join a network of more than 80,000 specialists who serve over 6,000 clients worldwide, including a majority of Fortune 500 companies.

Why This Role Matters

The mortgage market is evolving rapidly, and borrowers expect timely, transparent, and supportive service throughout the loan journey. As a Remote Customer Advocate at arenaflex, you will be the primary point of contact for borrowers, brokers, underwriters, and loan advisors. Your expertise will ensure loan applications are processed accurately, compliance standards are met, and communication flows smoothly—directly influencing loan approvals, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of our client’s lending portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process mortgage loan applications in strict accordance with lender guidelines, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the main liaison between borrowers, brokers, underwriters, and loan advisors, delivering clear and courteous updates throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all communications, status changes, and document requests within the Loan Operating System (LOS).
  • Proactively reach out to borrowers to collect outstanding documentation, referencing the Underwriting Terms and Conditions sheet to ensure completeness.
  • Validate the 1003 loan application for accuracy, confirming that data entered into the Loan Origination System (LOS) matches source documents.
  • Analyze loan applications for creditworthiness, assess Automated Underwriting System (AUS) outputs, and verify compliance with FHA, VA, and conventional loan guidelines.
  • Review title commitments, calculate fees, order necessary subordinations, and allocate costs correctly within the system.
  • Monitor each loan’s progress, set realistic expectations for borrowers and sales staff, and coordinate closing activities to meet targeted timelines.
  • Provide timely, professional responses to inbound inquiries, ensuring that every call and email receives a prompt and accurate resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify process improvements, share best practices, and contribute to continuous enhancement of the loan processing workflow.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mortgage loan processing, with a proven track record of handling a high‑volume pipeline.
  • Hands‑on experience with FHA and VA loan products; ideally a balanced portfolio of roughly 30% FHA, 30% VA, and 30% conventional loans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage 30–50 active loans simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Comfortable and skilled at telephone communication with brokers; at least 80% of daily activities involve outbound calls to follow up on loan status and documentation.
  • Strong familiarity with loan origination software (e.g., Encompass, Ellie Mae, Calyx) and the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on delivering clear, concise, and empathetic borrower experiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience processing refinance loans, with a preference for candidates whose loan mix leans heavily toward refinances (50%+ of the portfolio).
  • Certification or training in mortgage compliance, such as NMLS licensing, is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in analyzing credit reports, debt‑to‑income ratios, and other key underwriting metrics.
  • Ability to interpret and apply investor guidelines, including Fannie Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and GSE requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
  • Self‑motivated, adaptable, and comfortable thriving in a fully remote work environment.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Prioritizing borrower needs and delivering exceptional service at every touchpoint.
  • Analytical Acumen: Interpreting loan data, credit information, and underwriting guidelines to make informed decisions.
  • Communication Excellence: Articulating complex loan concepts in plain language for borrowers and brokers.
  • Time Management: Balancing multiple loan files, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Technology Savvy: Quickly mastering loan origination platforms, CRM tools, and remote collaboration software.
  • Compliance Focus: Ensuring every loan adheres to regulatory standards and investor requirements.

  • Opportunities to specialize in niche loan products (e.g., jumbo, construction, or reverse mortgages) as you demonstrate expertise.
  • Pathways to transition into leadership positions, such as Team Lead, Operations Manager, or Client Services Director, based on performance and ambition.
  • Certification support for NMLS, Certified Mortgage Processor (CMP), or other industry‑recognized credentials.
