Position Overview

The role is initially temporary with a clear pathway to permanent hire based on performance and business needs. You will work a flexible schedule that includes standard daytime shifts, evening rotations, and occasional Saturday coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound member, provider, and pharmacy calls with professionalism and empathy, addressing questions related to pharmacy benefits, claim status, and provider networks.
  • Initiate outbound follow‑up calls to verify prescription details, confirm prior authorizations, and close open issues in a timely manner.
  • Spend approximately 90% of your workday on the phone, delivering consistent, high‑quality customer service that aligns with arenaflex’s service standards.
  • Obtain necessary approvals for overrides and prior authorizations, accurately entering all information into the claims management system.
  • Monitor pharmacy claim processing queues, perform data entry of member records, and ensure that all transactions comply with regulatory and internal compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including pharmacy operations, benefits administration, and IT—to resolve escalated issues and improve process efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and training sessions as assigned, contributing ideas that enhance the member experience.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, preferably within a pharmacy benefits management (PBM) environment.
  • Current or previously held Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) credential; inactive certifications are also considered.
  • At least 1 year of direct experience handling pharmacy benefit or health‑benefits inquiries, demonstrating familiarity with claim adjudication and member support processes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health administration or related fields is a plus.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high‑volume call‑center setting, maintaining composure and accuracy under pressure.

  • Experience with PBM platforms, claims adjudication software, or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
