San Diego State University (SDSU) is seeking a Transfer Admission Evaluator and Advisor to evaluate academic records for students ready to transition from community colleges and universities to SDSU. Key Responsibilities:  Transcript and Course Evaluations: Evaluate community college and university transcripts to determine students eligibility for admission to SDSU. Determine course transferability, articulation and grade point average calculations.  Support Transfer Students: Assist students from community colleges and universities by providing guidance and explanation of admission requirements and academic policies.  Clear Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with students, explaining recommendations, admissions decisions, and any necessary actions to help them move forward confidently.  Process Planning and Organization: Collaborate in the planning and organization of all processes related to transfer admissions, ensuring a smooth experience for students and the admissions team. Position Information  This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.  This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.  Standard SDSU work hours are Monday  Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.  This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego. Department Summary Enrollment Services consists of the Office of Admissions which communicates with prospective and new applicants to SDSU; the Office of the Registrar which serves current students, faculty, alumni, and community members; Class Schedule which allows students to search for courses; and Enrollment Services Communications which coordinates print and digital publications for Enrollment Services offices. Education and Experience Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
