We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to partner closely with data scientists and fellow engineers in building low-latency data products capable of driving algorithms and machine learning models that shape the way our business operates, how our content streams, and the countless innovations yet to come. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale, distributed data systems and services that support high-throughput, mission-critical workloads powering personalization, recommendations, and real-time decisioning at arenaflex.
• Partner with data scientists, product managers, and engineering teams to deeply understand business needs and translate them into reliable, scalable data products and pipelines.
• Build and operate batch and real-time data processing frameworks (such as Spark, Flink, and similar technologies) to ingest, transform, and deliver data at scale.
• Develop and expose well-designed APIs and services (using frameworks like Spring, gRPC, and others) to make data broadly accessible for self-service and seamless integration across teams.
• Architect multi-tenant systems capable of handling high-scale, high-throughput requests while remaining easy to operate, monitor, scale, and maintain over time.
• Champion observability in every system you design, ensuring comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting that enables proactive issue detection and rapid resolution.
• Maintain and support products operating 24x7, ensuring the highest levels of availability, reliability, and performance for the systems you own.
• Take full ownership of your work — from initial design through long-term maintenance — with a relentless passion for quality, craftsmanship, and operational excellence.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language, preferably on the JVM stack (such as Java or Scala), along with strong SQL skills across any major variant.
• A genuine product mindset — you are curious about the business, eager to understand user needs, and motivated to use data as a lever for impact.
• A naturally collaborative working style, with proven experience partnering effectively with product management, data science, and engineering teams to deliver outstanding results.
• Strong analytical instincts and a solid grasp of data engineering fundamentals, with the ability to apply scientific thinking to design and build high-quality data products.
• Hands-on experience building applications that leverage large-scale distributed systems, batch and real-time data processing frameworks (Spark, Flink, etc.), and modern storage solutions.
• A passion for making data widely available through self-service platforms, robust APIs, and well-designed service architectures.
• Familiarity with transport protocols and a strong working knowledge of API and service frameworks (such as Spring, gRPC, and similar technologies).
• Proven experience supporting and maintaining products that run 24x7, with a relentless focus on availability, reliability, and operational excellence.
