Key Responsibilities
Provide senior-level technical expertise and guidance on civil engineering designs, including site development, infrastructure, and utility projects. Conduct thorough reviews of design documents, calculations, and specifications prepared by internal teams and external consultants. Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to ensure designs meet project objectives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitate virtual project meetings, workshops, and design charrettes to drive problem-solving and decision-making. Develop and implement best practices for civil engineering design and project execution in a remote setting. Analyze project challenges and provide innovative solutions, acting as a key technical advisor. Mentor junior engineers and technical staff through virtual channels, fostering their professional growth. Contribute to proposal development and client presentations as a subject matter expert. Ensure all reviewed designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project oversight. Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one US state is required. A
Pennsylvania
PE license is a plus but not mandatory for this remote role. Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively manage responsibilities in a remote work environment. Proficiency in using collaborative software platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom) and project management tools. Strong command of standard civil engineering design software and principles. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly across digital platforms. Proven track record of successfully managing and contributing to complex projects. Self-motivated, organized, and adept at time management.
