Position Overview

The Remote Data Entry Operator is a pivotal member of the Customer Service Division within arenaflex’s Business Operations. Reporting to the Data Management Supervisor, you will be responsible for entering large volumes of data with exceptional speed and accuracy, maintaining utility account records, and supporting a variety of administrative processes that keep our customer communications running smoothly. This role demands keen attention to detail, independent judgment, and a proactive mindset to identify and resolve data discrepancies before they affect downstream operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter, verify, and update customer information in the arenaflex Customer Information System (CIS) and related public works software platforms.
  • Establish and maintain utility accounts, ensuring that each account meets eligibility criteria and is correctly configured for service delivery.
  • Prepare, distribute, and complete work orders for field technicians, billing departments, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Generate and format files for mass customer communications, including newsletters, outage notices, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with the mailing of billing statements, service notices, and other correspondence generated in‑house, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Scan, archive, and retain critical documents in accordance with arenaflex’s records management policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct monthly audits of incomplete account transfer requests, identifying gaps and coordinating corrective actions with relevant teams.
  • Enter performance metrics into Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking databases to support ongoing operational analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service team to resolve data‑related inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a high‑volume data entry operator, typist, or in a similar role that required rapid and accurate data processing.

Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including typing speed of at least 60 words per minute with 99% accuracy.
  • 10‑key numeric entry proficiency, verified through a standardized assessment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using web‑based data entry platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Additional two (2) years of experience in high‑volume data entry, preferably within a utility, public works, or customer service environment.

Special Requirements

  • Advanced typing speed (70+ WPM) and superior 10‑key accuracy.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines while maintaining data integrity.
