[Remote] Founding Mechanical/Biochemical Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Naiad Technologies is developing Cyrene, an eco-friendly device aimed at treating harmful algal blooms caused by phosphate nutrient pollution. They are seeking a Founding Mechanical/Biochemical Engineer to lead the design and development of a phosphorus-extraction filtration system and ensure a pilot-ready product by April 2027.
Responsibilities
- Design the filtration system and buoy architecture
- Build and test prototypes that remove dissolved phosphorus from freshwater lakes under natural conditions
- Deliver a pilot-ready product by April 2027
- Set technical strategy and the development pipeline alongside the CEO and Scientific Advisor
- Lay the groundwork to scale toward commercial production by 2029
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, biochemical engineering, or a closely related field
- Fluent in CAD
- Hands-on experience turning biological, chemical, or biochemical materials into a working device or composite product
- Self-directed and comfortable owning open-ended problems from start to finish
- Track record of shipping projects on time and within tight budgets
- Clear communicator who addresses conflict directly
- Ready to take real accountability and commit to an early-stage startup
