Organizing Fellow with Conservation Nebraska Supervisors: Favian Mendez, Program Manager at Conservation Nebraska & Y’Shall Davis, Civic Engagement Strategist at Nebraska Civic Engagement Table Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Starting Salary: $45,000 Job purpose Organize community members and local stakeholders through various civic engagement strategies, including but not limited to voter registration, voter mobilization, community building and engagement with engagement while building power through expanding Conservation Nebraska’s base of supporters and volunteers Support Conservation Nebraska and the broader collective goals of the Nebraska Civic Engagement Table and its membership by increasing local civic engagement efforts Key accountabilities COMMUNITY AND NETWORK ORGANIZING Coordinate with Conservation Nebraska program managers and volunteer coordinator to plan events, table at member events, recruit volunteers, and assist with programs Actively participate as the representative for Conservation Nebraska in the appropriate Nebraska Table Coalition meetings and act as a liaison to the community Lead education efforts and outreach on issues impacting community members and organize around issues that increase civic engagement and participation Identify opportunities for cross-organization partnerships to amplify impact and more effectively utilize available resources COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION Identify and recruit community members to build the base of Conservation Nebraska supporters and strengthen organizational programs through active public outreach and one-on-one meetings Actively participate in regularly scheduled calls to keep Conservation Nebraska updated on collective efforts to advance their mission Actively engage, center, and empower underrepresented communities, to ensure their perspectives and concerns are not only heard and addressed, but are the driving force for strategy and action Leadership Competencies Center community needs and voices Build collaborative relationships Take initiative Effective communication Respect for differences Promote equity

Qualifications

Preferred: Candidates whose personal values align with the mission and values of Conservation Nebraska Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply Experience working or good understanding of grassroots organizing, direct services, local volunteering, or nonprofit work Presenting, collaborating, and training with diverse audiences and more specifically with underrepresented communities Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license and auto insurance Commitment to equal opportunity and fairness LOCATION REQUIREMENT: Majority of time spent in Norfolk, Grand Island, or Hastings, Nebraska (depending on the location of the Organizing Fellow), with some travel required to Grand Island, Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska Benefits include: Tiered employer covered health, dental and vision insurance, flexible PTO, employer covered life insurance, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability, professional development stipend, technology and internet stipend, retirement stipend at the end of year 1 & 2, end of year office closure and closed on all federal holidays Working conditions Office & remote work environment Night and weekend hours required during certain times of the year Travel within the state could be between 30%-40% of the role during certain times of the year Physical requirements Some physical activity, including canvassing, will be required Direct reports None Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with preference given to applications received by June 30, 2026.
