About arenaflex – Pioneering the Future of Intelligent Automation

At arenaflex, we are redefining how goods move, how warehouses think, and how robots interact with the physical world. Our Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team sits at the intersection of cutting‑edge robotics, advanced material handling, and eco‑friendly packaging solutions. By blending hardware, software, and innovative packaging science, we enable a seamless, high‑throughput fulfillment ecosystem that powers the next generation of e‑commerce and logistics operations worldwide.

Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to create intelligent, reliable, and sustainable automation that delivers tangible value to every stakeholder—from the engineers who design the machines to the end‑users who receive their packages. If you thrive in an iterative, fast‑paced environment where your ideas can be turned into real‑world impact, arenaflex offers the platform, resources, and collaborative culture you need to excel.

Position Overview – Virtual Testing & Simulation Quality Assurance Lead

We are seeking an outstanding Quality Assurance Engineer – Virtual & Simulation Testing to join the arenaflex Robotics – Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) team. In this role, you will architect and execute high‑fidelity virtual platforms that emulate full‑scale solutions using real software components. Your work will bridge the gap between product design, manual testing, and operational deployment, ensuring that every new robot, autonomous vehicle, sortation system, and packaging material meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and sustainability.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in complex systems integration, a passion for simulation‑driven validation, and the ability to collaborate across large, cross‑functional engineering and operations groups. You will partner with product teams, QA manual testing groups, and internal customers—including Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and more—to guarantee that innovative solutions are ready for real‑world operation, maintenance, and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement virtual test environments: Build and maintain simulation and Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop (HIL) platforms that use real automation software to validate end‑to‑end solutions at full scale.
  • Validate product specifications: Ensure that hardware, software, controls, and packaging materials meet rigorous quality, functionality, reliability, and maintainability criteria before release.
  • Define quality standards: Establish measurable quality parameters for new solutions and communicate these standards clearly to hardware, software, controls, and materials development teams.
  • Coordinate cross‑team simulations: Work closely with product engineers, QA manual testers, and operations stakeholders to synchronize virtual and physical testing cycles.
  • Identify and resolve defects: Detect, analyze, and prioritize bugs, performance regressions, and recurring issues across multiple product lines; drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Engage internal customers: Gather feedback from Operations, RME, ACES, Process Engineering, Ops Engineering, WW Design, and other key groups to refine simulation scenarios and ensure alignment with real‑world requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance: Ensure all testing activities adhere to federal, state, local, and arenaflex internal policies, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Automate test execution: Develop scripts, test executors, and automation engines that accelerate design‑of‑experiment studies, enabling rapid exploration of multiple variables.
  • Support knowledge transfer: Mentor QA manual testing teams on virtual model validation techniques and promote best practices for simulation‑based verification.
  • Document and report results: Produce clear, actionable test reports, dashboards, and risk assessments that inform product roadmaps and release decisions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience working with large, cross‑functional engineering teams on modeling, simulation, testing, integration, or quality assurance.
  • Hands‑on experience with fulfillment systems, including storage equipment, material handling systems, automated sortation, and related automation hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and run high‑fidelity simulations that incorporate real software stacks and hardware interfaces.
  • Strong time‑management skills with a track record of meeting tight project deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of navigating ambiguous technical challenges.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time to business locations, project sites, and operational facilities.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, high‑speed packaging technologies, robotics, and large‑scale manufacturing systems.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, Gazebo, or equivalent, and familiarity with HIL testing frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with engineering, operations, and senior leadership.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to initiate, plan, execute, and close projects successfully.
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging materials and environmental impact assessment methodologies.
  • Exposure to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for test automation.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Collaboration: Ability to build trust and work productively across diverse technical and business teams.
  • Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to data integrity, test configuration, and documentation.
  • Abstract Thinking: Capacity to conceptualize complex system interactions and translate them into actionable simulation scenarios.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with rapidly changing priorities and evolving technology landscapes.
  • Leadership: Proactive ownership of quality outcomes and mentorship of junior engineers.
