Why You’ll Love This Opportunity at arenaflex

This position sits within arenaflex’s Financial Planning Systems group, an area where finance meets technology and where strategic insight drives operational excellence. In this role, you will combine a working knowledge of corporate finance with hands-on experience supporting and developing financial planning applications. You will serve as an internal advisor to business partners, identifying automation opportunities, shaping reporting strategies, and delivering solutions that help arenaflex and its clients make smarter, faster decisions.

Whether you are looking to deepen your expertise in enterprise planning platforms, sharpen your consulting skills, or build a portfolio career in financial systems, this part-time remote opportunity offers the flexibility and challenge to do exactly that — all while being part of a supportive, growth-minded team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Analyst supporting arenaflex’s Financial Planning Systems practice, your day-to-day work will blend financial analysis, systems stewardship, and stakeholder collaboration. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Hyperion planning application on an ongoing basis for forecast and actual financial cycles, ensuring data integrity and smooth month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
  • Validating and reconciling data sourced from Hyperion Financial Management and from various feeder systems, identifying discrepancies early and resolving them in a timely manner.
  • Investigating and resolving data issues, including divisional roll-ups, intercompany transactions, hierarchical changes, and general ledger integrations.
  • Performing routine system maintenance, including user access management, permission controls, and configuration updates to keep the planning environment secure and reliable.
  • Acting as a trusted first point of contact for internal users experiencing system issues, helping with existing reports, forms, templates, and modeling questions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of in-depth scenario and what-if analyses on complex financial topics, including competitive industry benchmarking.
  • Coordinating and completing the monthly headcount planning process within Hyperion, working closely with HR and Finance stakeholders.
  • Updating Hyperion Planning structures with organizational changes; coordinating hierarchy updates with reporting controllers and the general ledger team.
  • Consulting with business groups to gather and clarify reporting requirements, then proposing and presenting efficient, scalable solutions.
  • Building and maintaining Essbase cubes, planning applications, financial reports, and forecasting/budgeting models tailored to the needs of various Finance functions.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should bring a combination of formal education and relevant professional experience, including:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems, or a closely related field — or equivalent practical experience and training.
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience in a Finance role, with demonstrated exposure to financial statements, financial modeling, and analysis.
  • A solid IT foundation, including hands-on experience with Oracle tools and exposure to both multidimensional and relational database structures.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are not required, but will help you stand out as a candidate:

  • Prior experience using Hyperion Planning, including development and administration responsibilities (such as Smart View, Essbase, Planning, and related modules).
  • Experience working within a complex, matrixed corporate environment where collaboration across functions is essential.
  • Exposure to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes in a large or growing organization.

Skills and Competencies for Success

Beyond technical know-how, the ideal Senior Analyst at arenaflex brings a thoughtful, curious, and collaborative mindset. We look for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Analytical Agility: The ability to apply structured, data-driven approaches to a wide variety of financial questions.
  • Problem-Solving Instinct: A natural tendency to dig into data, trace issues to their root cause, and propose practical solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and clean documentation.
  • Prioritization Skills: The ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities without losing sight of deadlines.
  • Technical Fluency: Comfort with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and a willingness to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Communication: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to present findings and recommendations to varied audiences.
  • Team Collaboration: A proven ability to work effectively across diverse teams, departments, and stakeholder groups.

Career Growth and Learning at arenaflex

At arenaflex, part-time does not mean “limited.” We invest in our people because we know our business depends on the expertise and engagement of our team. As a Senior Analyst in Financial Planning Systems, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior finance and technology leaders who have built and scaled planning environments in complex organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade platforms, including Hyperion, Essbase, and Oracle, that are highly valued across the finance and analytics job market.
  • Cross-functional exposure to Finance, HR, IT, and Operations leaders, helping you build a well-rounded business perspective.
  • Opportunities to take on increasing responsibility over time as you demonstrate ownership, reliability, and strategic thinking.
  • A culture that encourages curiosity, continuous learning, and professional certification pursuits.
