About the position NIRA Inc., a fast-growing women-owned small business headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking a Technical Tableau Developer / Site Administrator to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Our ideal candidate has strong analytical and technical skills, experience developing Tableau dashboards and managing Tableau platform operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with data owners, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure reliable data and reporting solutions. This role will support the development, administration, and governance of the Tableau platform, including management of SQL-based data connections, data extract refresh processes, and monitoring of data accuracy. The successful candidate will also support Tableau site administration, user access management, and dashboard testing to ensure compliance with FAA governance standards and Tableau best practices. This is a full-time, hybrid position. Candidates should expect to work in-person one day a week at either the client site or NIRA headquarters (both in Washington, DC).

  • Responsibilities
  • Developing and managing SQL-based data connections to support Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Managing and monitoring Tableau data extract refresh schedules to ensure timely and accurate data availability.
  • Monitoring data quality and conducting data reconciliation and validation activities to ensure accuracy of published reports.
  • Coordinating with data owners and stakeholders to resolve data issues and maintain reliable data sources.
  • Supporting Tableau site administration, including management of user access, permissions, and security controls.
  • Ensuring published dashboards and reports comply with FAA governance policies, Tableau best practices, and data management standards.
  • Leading or supporting testing and validation activities for dashboards prior to deployment.
  • Maintaining documentation for data sources, dashboards, and platform configurations.
  • Providing inputs to reports, briefings, and other documentation to communicate system performance and analytics insights.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in data analytics, Tableau development, or business intelligence platform administration.
  • Experience developing Tableau dashboards and managing SQL Server
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience managing data extract refresh processes and monitoring data pipelines.
  • Experience supporting data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation activities.
  • Ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and prioritize assignments and workload, execute tasking independently or collaboratively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Nice-to-haves
  • Experience working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other federal agencies.
  • Experience administering Tableau Server environments, including security and user management.
  • Familiarity with data governance, analytics platform operations, and BI best practices.
  • Experience working with large enterprise datasets and multiple data sources.
