[Remote] Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in the AI/ML model development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and monitor models that enhance educational experiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and report on projects of diverse scope independently with weekly manager check-ins
- Support/guide junior colleagues, including acting as team lead on shared projects
- Propose solutions to business problems based on limited information and precedent
- Solve problems by adopting, adapting, and/or extending existing DS/AI approaches
- Collaborate with colleagues in other functions to support the creation of compelling learning experiences
- Learn how to balance multiple projects and revise project plans as circumstances change
Skills
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in AI, Data Science, or related field
- 3+ years of applicable work experience
- Ability to apply DS/AI knowledge to independently define and resolve problems, even with limited information or precedent
- Recent hands-on experience with generative AI, including LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex)
- Deep understanding of large language model (LLM) principles
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (5+ years)
- Creativity in addressing diverse issues aligned with business goals, including suggesting variations in approach
- Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences and advise others on complex matters
- Proven track record of independently planning, executing, and reporting on AI projects to deliver business value
- Passion for technology and commitment to staying current on generative AI advancements
- Affinity for education and knowledge sharing
- Experience with LangSmith
- Strong technical communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create scalable and efficient production-level code
